Susanne Salavati is a London-based Director of Photography, with diverse experience shooting drama and documentary in a multitude of worldwide locations. She is focused on projects that both challenge her and examine the society we live in.
Her range of drama projects include series 2 of THE LAZARUS PROJECT, Paramount+ hit THE FLATSHARE, the critically acclaimed second series of BACK TO LIFE, Jane Gull’s independent feature film LOVE WITHOUT WALLS and award winning BBC/Netflix drama THEN BARBARA MET ALAN written by Jack Thorne, directed by Bruce Goodison and Amit Sharma.
She was selected as a Screen International screen star of tomorrow 2022. Her work on feature film MY FERAL HEART received critical acclaim for its “Poetic Cinematography” (Sight & Sound), won the Audience Award for Best Feature Drama at Cinequest 2016 and was nominated for three British Independent Film Awards. She has received Best Cinematography awards for short films THE HONEY MAKERS, UNRAVEL and TWITCHER.
Susie’s documentary work continues with BIFA nominated EVEN WHEN I FALL supported by Sundance and BFI backed WHITE RIOT winner of LFF Grierson Award.
She has also lit successful commercial campaigns for Benefit San Francisco, Pantene, The National Trust and Huggies. She is a contributor to Getty Images and a member of international and UK based cinematography collectives the ICFC and illuminatrix.
